A Review of the Sealy Mattress Company

The Sealy Mattress Corporation has long provided some of the best bedding options in America, in fact it's been over 120 years since the first one rolled off the line. Some examples of the mattresses that they make are the Sealy Posturepedic, and the Pure Embrace latex foam line.

In the nineteen fifties the company unveiled the first Posturepedic mattresses. Their market share grew as the seventies came along and it was about that time they made some advances in their manufacturing process. They were able to create new coiled innersprings which boosted their already comfortable and therapeutic support.

To this day the company continues to provide excellent services to customers. Their spot in the North American market has remained at number one for thirty years. They have international operations, and run seventeen plants in the United States.

In their quest to provide customers with the kind of sleep that they deserve, Sealy has come up with offerings to fill different needs. They produce every type of mattress you can think of, as well as comforters, pillows and sheets.

Their signature product is the Sealy Posturepedic. They were designed by a group of well respected orthopedic doctors. Traditional mattresses sometimes get lumpy with age and can have hard spots which poke into your body. Posturepedic mattresses aim for less tossing and turning - allowing you to sleep more deeply.

They're currently producing a wide range of mattresses to choose from. First off there's the standard Sealy Posturepedic innerspring type. Then there's the PurEmbrace latex and the TrueForm memory foam options. They're all completely different, and they all have their uses.

Your standard Sealy Posturpedic mattress comes in three different flavors. You have the Preferred Series at the entry level, which has 736 innerspring coils for support. It's basic design uses several different support zones in the center where they're most needed.

The Reserve Series is a step up and is probably a more solid choice with extra cushioning in the comfort layer. The coil support count is bumped up to 782. The combination of springs and memory foam work well to create a sleep surface that's comfortable but still maintains correct posture.

Finally, there is the Signature Series. This is by far the best, and of course the most expensive. It combines NASA memory foam, latex, and innersprings to get the useful traits they each offer. There's extra memory foam near the head and knees, and latex is placed along the hip area. If you want all three of these materials in one mattress, this is definitely the way to go.

Next in line we have the Sealy PurEmbrace. This is a latex mattress, which is antimicrobial and dust mite resistant, so people who suffer from allergies won't have a problem. It's also able to take the shape of the individual sleeping on it. This creates less pressure points, meaning that tossing and turning will no longer be an issue.

The Sealy SpringFree is constructed with either latex or foam in the core, a shock absorbing foundation, and a comfort system created by using variable densities of latex. These mattresses can be better for couples because the materials support each person uniquely. Latex also helps the mattress keep it's shape and makes it much more durable.

Sealy TrueForm mattresses are the company's entry in the visco elastic memory foam category. This advanced material is temperature sensitive and will adapt to your body's shape and weight. A high-density support layer equally distributes body mass over the sleep surface. This material adjusts to you rather you having to adjust to it. It also comes with a special foundation which is designed for this type of foam and further improves it's support and stability.

In closing, a Sealy mattress may be just what you're looking for. We feel we can recommend their products without hesitation. They're a highly regarded manufacturer among customers and retailers alike. There must be a reason they've been able to hold the top spot in this highly competitive industry for so long.

Anne Randyl is frequently found snoozing on the job. But in her case it's OK because she writes for Best Mattress Buying Guide.net. If you're thinking about obtaining a new mattress you should definitely read the rest of her Sealy mattress reviews.

Sealy Posturepedic - How Does it Stack Up to the Competition?

How does Sealy Posturepedic, one of the top selling mattresses, stack up in terms of comfort to other popular mattresses, such as Serta and Simmons Beautyrest? And how does it compare comfort-wise to memory foam mattresses, airbeds and waterbeds?

To find out, I spent hundreds of hours looking through dozens of online forums, message boards, consumer websites, etc. putting together data from over 1,600 people regarding what they think of their mattresses. What my research results show is interesting.

How Posturepedic Compares to Other Innerspring Mattresses

According to my research, 65% of Sealy Posturepedic owners said that the bed was comfortable to them. This percentage is higher than Serta (45%), Simmons Beautyrest (44%) and Kingsdown (52%).

Sealy Posturepedic scored above the other brands largely because it seemed to have the least problem with sagging. In other words, many owners reported that the bed maintained its support and comfort and did not leave body impressions for at least a few years.

How Posturepedic Compares to Memory Foam and Other Types of Mattresses

Sealy Posturepedic was in the ball park when compared against other types of mattresses, according to my research. Memory foam beds (such as Tempur-pedic), airbeds (such as Sleep Number) and waterbeds, however, still beat the Posturepedic in terms of comfort.

These other types of beds also often have other advantages over the Posturepedic. For instance, they often have higher durability, do a better job of discouraging dust mite populations and allergies, and have little if any need to be flipped over.

So what's the bottom line? The Sealy Posturepedic is the king of innerspring mattresses, but does not quite stack up against other types of beds.

A Guide to The Beautyrest Foam Mattress and Sealy Foam Mattress

You are probably mulling over the inclination of buying Simmons Beautyrest foam mattress or Sealy Posturepedic foam mattress but can't decide which one you like most. They are two of the trendsetters in the mattress world. Opting for any of these mattresses is a wise choice but you can only choose one.

Why don't we take a closer look at the individual attributes of Beautyrest Foam mattress and Sealy Foam mattress? There are bound to be one or two features up their sleeves to impress you.

Primary Traits

Innerspring technology is the core mattress technology of Sealy posturepedic mattresses. But it can also be categorized as a foam mattress because Sealy integrated an ample layer of memory foam.

Beautyrest foam can also be categorized as a hybrid mattress because of the two different technologies included in it.Simmons has provided their customers the option of using memory foam mattress, latex mattress or both-whicever suits well to your sleeping needs.

If you think tempered steel can faultlessly give you a blissful sleep, try Sealy posturepedic. Innerspring mattresses are great because they do not simply sag. In other words, it is far more flexible than just a memory foam mattress alone. Since this Sealy mattress is merged with a layer of memory foam mattress, anticipate that you will get ample support to hinder pressure points from developing.

In the Beautyrest corner, the merging of latex and memory foam looks promising. The unique characteristics of Latex and memory foam are all ideal. It lessens the likelihood of experiencing sore muscles because your body is well-supported. Because this type of mattress uses latex technology, it can withstand wears and tears for up to 25 years without the need of turning the mattress over.

One of the reasons why latex mattresses have been catapulted to fame is because of its durability. This is because of its durable and resilient ingredient-rubber tree sap. In addition to that, latex mattresses are also hypoallergenic and antimicrobial. Mold and mildew are also discouraged to grow in a latex environment.

When latex and visco elastic memory foam merge, you can only expect a mattress that has the traits mentioned earlier and more. Other than its support, it also speaks of a ideal temperature system that keeps you cool during summer and warm during winter.

Comparison In Terms of Price.

The difference in price is not that big. The price are closely the same depending on what store you purchased your mattress. The only way you can get a greater bargain out of it is to know more about its warranty.

Make sure you check the warranty prior to buying. Sealy and Simmons are not exempted from raving and ranting reviews. Be more cautious by knowing more about the pertinent details that make up their warranty service.

Sealy offers a warranty claim. If you want this claim to be of use in the feature, keep your sales receipt and bedding law labels. For those who purchase mattresses from Simmons Company, they suggest customers to contact their retailers first. If your retailer is not in business anymore, you can immediately escalate your complaints to Simmons Company. Just take your copy of your satin trade label, law tag and receipt.

Whatever you decide on between Beautyrest foam mattress and Sealy foam mattress, your choice will always be a good one. However, the decision is still up to you. Having read this, you should now be able to come to a decision as to which mattress is more to your preferences.

And now, I would like to invite you to the ultimate information resource providing the latest mattress reviews for smart mattress buyers. Find out which mattress is right for you and where to buy it at http://www.bestmattressratings.com

Tempur-Pedic Mattress or Sealy TrueForm Mattress - Which Is Best?

Memory foam mattresses are the new sensation in the mattress world and for god reason; there’s no doubting the benefits to be had on sleeping on a viscoelastic mattress. The first to manufacture the memory foam mattress was Tempur-Pedic and the company remains the market leader with this type of mattress. But do other brands, like the Sealy TrueForm Mattress, match the Tempur-Pedic mattress in terms of support, comfort and price?

With most comparisons you must try to compare like with like. Some for the following comparisons I will pitch the Tempur-Pedic CelebrityBed mattress to that of the Sealy TrueForm 11 Series mattress. Both of these mattresses are at the high-end of both quality and pricing for both companies. For the lower-end of the price category one should compare the Tempur-Pedic Classic mattress to the Sealy TrueForm 8 Series mattress but I won’t compare these models.

First off let’s be clear on one point. Both Tempur-Pedic and Sealy have different, patented memory foam; the memory foam is not supplied by a common source rather, both Tempur-Pedic and Sealy have researched, developed and manufacture their own distinct versions. Now let’s take a look at both products.

The Tempur-Pedic Mattress

The CelebrityBed mattress is Tempur-Pedic’s top-end mattress. It’s constructed with the Tempur-Pedic AirFlow System (a convoluted HR base), which is comprised of 2 4.3”support layers of proprietary TEMPUR material. The convoluted base helps to dissipate body heat, something that was always a problem with memory foam mattress. On top of the AirFlow System comes a 2.8" base layer (5.3 lb/ft3 density). Finally, you get one, 2” pillow top comfort layer (5.3 lb /ft3 density) memory foam. The mattress itself is contained in a removable cover; 67.5% cotton, 25% polyester, 7.5% cashmere, which can be easily unzipped for washing.

The Sealy TrueForm Mattress

The Sealy memory foam mattress is also multilayered, consisting of 2 layers of foam. The 9 Series from Sealy consists of a 6" poly core (made of high-density foam), 3.5" of regular visco (memory foam) and 1.5" of convoluted visco. The convoluted later of the Sealy TrueForm, like that of the Tempur-Pedic mattress) is designed to draw away body heat. Interestingly the convoluted layer of the Sealy forms the top layer whereas the convoluted layer of the Tempur-Pedic forms the base of the mattress. Which is more effective is hard to say. The Sealy TrueForm 9 Series also comes with a zip-off velour cover with added cashmere.

So how does each mattress compare. The Tempur-Pedic mattress is slightly heavier than the Sealy mattress. However, as neither mattress requires any flipping, weight is not an issue. You can get a box spring for each mattress – personally, this is a complete waste of money). However, the Sealy TrueForm mattress is compatible with Sealy’s PowerBase, so you can adjust the mattress to various positions, program in your favorite positions and even get a massage – I prefer to get a massage administered by human hand rather than a machine, but I suppose the Powerbase is great for watching television.

Both mattresses come with a 20 year limited warranty.

The most important question though is which mattress gives the best support and comfort. I have tested both mattresses and can honestly say that I could not rate the Tempur-Pedic mattress over the Sealy, or vice-versa. I have heard some comments that the memory foam used in the Sealy TrueForm mattress is slightly softer than that used in the Tempur-Pedic CelebrityBed – I didn’t notice this but perhaps I’m not as sensitive as some.

In conclusion I would rate the Sealy TrueForm higher than that of the Tempur-Pedic mattress, purely based on price. The Sealy mattress is substantially cheaper than that of the Tempur-Pedic, so why pay more? I sometimes wonder if the high price of a Tempur-Pedic mattress is so high because the company advertizes so much or, perhaps, it believes people will pay more because it is the market leader.
